(CNN) -Britain's Prince Charles supported new administrative posts devoted to climate change in African universities on Saturday and urged conservationists and policy-makers to learn with planet sustainability.
"I, for one, have been very heartened by Cape Town University's decision to appoint pro Vice-chancellor for climate change-an idea that I can only hope to catch anywhere else!" The Prince of Wales said in a speech at the University of South Africa's oldest, established in 1829.
Academics have to explore the economic system would weather the "kinds of shocks that would, I fear, just became more frequent and more severe in the coming years," Prince said. "To do this, we have to create a framework that is sensitive to the relationship that exists between food security, water security, energy security–and, indeed, national security–and the issues of how human well-being can be achieved without further loss of integrity of the planet."
The Prince's speech focused more on the issue of sustainability–and did not comment directly on the idea that fossil fuel and carbon emissions that cause global warming and climate change.
"What's up with the growing need for more urban development and the pressure to produce more food, it quickly becomes difficult to maintain essential services, such as clean water supply and, eventually, to protect the rich diversity of life and that, whether we like it or not, is absolutely essential if nature continues to maintain his danoleh therefore, the US," said Charles.
